How to Submit a New Modality Request to the IICT for Consideration
If you know of a modality that is not on our list or you are the
founder and have pioneered a new modality, you may request to have this
approved by the IICT for membership and insurance purposes.
The more information you can provide, the better the changes are that your request will be approved.
In order to have a new modality considered for inclusion you are required to email us the following information:
Modality Specifics
Name of modality
A brief description of the modality and what and where it has been derived from
What age range is typical of this modality (if involving children under the age of 14, what consents are obtained from the parents, provide copies)
Is this modality a group or individual therapy
Accrediting associations or Professional Bodies
If not association accredited, what school/college teaches this modality or what must be done prior to practicing this modality
Is there a pre requisite qualification before being able to practice/study this modality
What is the qualification obtained at the end of the study period
Curriculum or syllabus details
Does the accrediting associations’ code of ethics apply to this modality or does it have a separate code of ethics, please provide if separate
What are the more popular websites for obtaining more information about this modality, is there a specific website linked to this modality (e.g. association or college)
What other modality(s) is this similar to
What other modality(s), if any, is it usual for these practitioners to provide
Is it usual to sell products with this modality, if so provide details of the type and turnover estimated for these
Is the modality subject to any statutory regulation, do the practitioners need to be registered with a government authority? (not covered if they do as full medical malpractice)
Provide details of any known or reported or usual losses
What risk management provisions are in place with practitioners
Any other useful information (journal articles, press releases etc.)

What is the estimated number of practitioners nationwide who may be practising this modality
What is the estimated number of practitioners belonging to the accrediting associations or Professional Bodies
In order for a new modality to be considered you are required to be a full IICT member.
